Granger Cup – March 2023
The Granger Cup event commenced in the early 1920s with this social event sponsored by the then Local Store in Jamberoo owned by the Grangers. In later years the store was taken over by the Pryor Brothers. The Granger Cup was re-launched in 1998 and is a popular Mixed doubles annual event at the Jamberoo Tennis Club. Bev Corfield, Ross Douglas and Donna Short were organisers this year and were pleased with the turnout of 14 pairs which competed for the coveted trophy.
Congratulations to Sharyn Farrell and Mick Anderson. This win was especially pleasing for Mick Anderson a new club member who practises regularly and is eager to improve his tennis. Runners-up were Barb Smith and Bruce Roberton.
Katherine Brennan and Ross Douglas were rewarded for their perseverance and solid play with the Encouragement Award.
